Levelling-up
What happens when I level-up? How can I level-up?

Level-Up - Levelling-Up allows you to improve your characteristics and gives you additional spells, if your race is capable of learning them.

As your character levels-up, you have the option of developing your chosen characteristics and attributes. Upon each level-up, the experience required to reach the next level increases. So why go through so much hassle? Well, for good reason! Take a look at what depends on your character's level:

  • Promotion - You can promote your character to the next evolutionary stage of your class by going to the Training Grounds in any main city. The evolutions usually require your character to be a certain level and gained a certain amount of experience points before you can choose them. As you promote your class to the next evolutionary stage, your character stats improve even further.
  • Tougher monsters - Fighting weak monsters can be quite fun at first, but they give you little rewards and get boring pretty quickly. As your character's level increases, you have a better chance of fighting bigger tougher monsters, more of a challenge than a "watch-by", and also offering better more valuable rewards.
  • Level-restricted zones - Some zones only allow entry to citizens if they meet a certain level requirement. Do you want to miss out on new valuables and zone specials just because your character is too weak?

How to Level-Up: You will be taken to the Level-Up screen once your experience bar becomes full.

As you fight Melee Battles, duel fellow Zhentonians and complete quests, you will earn experience points. When your experience bar becomes full, you will be able to Level-Up.

The level-up screen will appear in your character sheet as shown.
From here, you can allocate your Distribution Points to your characteristics. Depending on your level, you can anywhere between 3-15 distribution points. Remember that you can also use your distribution points to upgrade your abilities (Character Sheet -> Special Abilities) so it's handy to keep some distribution points spare in case you need them afterwards.
