Zhentor Online - Official Guide
Research & Plans
What are plans? Carrying out research List of plans

Plans: As you will no doubt find out through your time in Zhentor Online, plans are a vital part of Village Development. Researching new plans will unlock buildings, special bonuses, workers and military units. There are three types of plans in Zhentor Online, and each serves a unique and distinct purpose.

Basic Plans: These plans are the cheapest plans available and take the least amount of time for completion. Basic plans usually unlock a new building, allowing you to construct the building once you have researched the plan successfully.

Special Plans: Special plans are neither cheap nor do they take a short time for completion. These plans consume a healthy amount of resources and time as they are brought to completion, perhaps for good reason. These plans offer specific bonuses to your village and these bonuses are not just limited to building requirements, worker efficiency and warring. For more information, view individual plan information below.

Guild Plans: Guild Plans are very special plans and reflect the attributes of the character managing the village. The guild plans you are able to research and view will depend on your chosen race for your character. Guild plans require exponential amounts of resources and time to be brought to completion, but they also offer the most beneficial services to your village.

Direction: Kingdom Menu -> Research Plans-> Basic / Special / Guild Plans
If you meet the resource requirements for the plan, you can initiate it. To initiate a plan, you need to tick the respective checkbox under the Set Plan! column and then click on Set Plan at the bottom of the page.

Plans are researched by Scholars. The more scholars you assign to research a plan, the faster it will be completed. At each End Turn, your scholars will produce plan points as they study the plan. When the plan points remaining, as indicated under the Remaining column, reach 0, the plan will be completed.

Research: Initiating research on plans is quite a simple and easy process, as described below.

Step 1
Step 1: Tick the checkboxes for the respective plans you wish to research

If you can research a plan, a checkbox will appear beside its name under the Set Plan! column. Once you initiate research on a given plan, the resources required for the research are deducted from your reserves and the plan is initiated. However, you must employ scholars to carry out the research.

To initiate the research, click on Set Plan near the bottom of the page, or hit ENTER on your keyboard.

Step 2
Step 2: Employ scholars
Enter the amount of scholars you wish to dedicate to study this plan. This can be done by entering a value under the Scholars column for the respective plan. The more scholars you employ, the faster the research will take place. You can also enter negative quantites to stop scholars from studying certain plans.

To employ the scholars and finalise the research, click on Set Plan near the bottom of the page, or hit ENTER on your keyboard.

Step 3
Step 3: End turns until your scholars finish research

You should see some numbers under the Remaining column for the respective building. Initially, when you initiate a research, the value in this column is the same as the value in the Points column, which basically states how mcuh plan points are needed to complete the research project. As you end turns, your employed scholars will produce plan points in an attempt to finish this build.

Select Plan

Fields Explained

Plan Type: See information above.

Resources required: This is the amount of each resource required to initiate research. Note that although you may pay the initial resources to start the research, this does not gurantee the completion of the specific plan. This is explained fully in the next field.

Plan Points: Everytime you end a turn, you will accumulate research points equal to the amount of scholars hired, their skill level and production rate. If you have initiated research on any plans, the accumulated research points will be taken away from the plan points remaining to complete the research. Once the plan points reach 0, the research will be complete.

Modifier: This field only applies to Special and Guild plans. The explanation of this field varies from plan to plan, so for a better understanding view the specific plan and read the description.
